Q: Where is your office and when are you in your office?
A: I am currently teaching at both the Main Campus in Bentonville and The WC Campus in Springdate. My offices are SC 327 and WCC 202, respectively.
You can find the times and locations of my weekly office hours on my website at http://gkfoster.com. This will also note any changes to normal times.
Q: If I cannot make it to campus, is there another way to meet with you?
A: I do have a Virtual Office set up, with a link on my website. You will have to set up a day and time (during normal office hours) which you what to virtually meet with me via Teams, so I will be there. I do not monitor Teams unless I'm expecting someone.
Q: When are the homework assignments due?
A: Due dates are set in myLab Math (MLM). These dates are lined up with the course schedule that is on the Course Outline. Any changes to this will be emailed to your NWACC Email account. Keep an eye on the course schedule and MLM. When a section has been covered in class, the assignment set of problems for that section is to be worked before the next class period. This is still the case if you miss a class, the Homework Assignment is still due by the next class period.
Q: When are the exams?
A: The sections covered are listed on the course schedule, with unit exam listed. Unit Exams will be open for a few days. Details will be emailed out before the exam period begins, due date and how to schedule and take your exams. Reminders will be emailed out during the exam period.
Q: Where do I take my exams?
A: For those who live nearby to our Bentonville campus, exams are given by the NWACC Testing Center. If you live far away and cannot come to campus, you can find a Testing Center at a college or university near you (I'll assist with that). If you cannot find any Testing Center, there will be online options. Details will be included with Exam details emailed out.
Q: How many exams will be given during the course?
A: Since this class only meets for 8 weeks, there will be only 2 Unit Exams plus the Final Exam. Given that we are taking so few exams, I will allow you to take each exam twice, as long as the first attempt is taken before the midway point of the exam period. Your score will be the best of the two attempts for each exam.
