The Labrador Retriever or simply Labrador or Lab is a British breed of water dog retriever gun dog. It was developed in the United Kingdom from St. John's water dogs imported from the colony of Newfoundland, and was named after the Labrador region of that colony.

English Labradors are known for their friendly, loyal, and adaptable nature, making them great family companions and service dogs. They are also known for being more laid-back and easygoing than their American counterparts, preferring a relaxed pace of life.
